LovingKindness Phrases and The Four Elements of Love

Here are the basics of what we covered in today’s Lovingkindness meditation.
With background information from Thich Naht Han’s book True Love in which he talks about the four elements of love.

  • Maitri - Lovingkindness

  • Karuna - Compassion

  • Mudita - Joy

  • Upeksha - Equanimity or freedom

And the mantras:

  • Dear one, I am here for you.

  • Dear one, I know that you are there.

  • Dear one, I know that you are suffering.

  • Dear one, I am suffering, please help.

  • Dear one, I am aware of your heart, I am smiling at your heart.
